On 19 June thousands of guitarists will gather to perform the legendary Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix in Wrocław and online. Among the artists helping them set the World Guitar Record are Piotr Bukartyk, Łukasz Łyczkowski and Wojciech Pilichowski. The charity action of the ZOBACZ MNIE Foundation is still on – you can win a unique guitar with a painting by Szymon Chwalisz.

Guitar virtuosos, rock stars and greatest hits of all time

The artists confirmed to perform at the World Guitar Record are joined by outstanding Polish musicians – the stage in Wrocław will see Łukasz Łyczkowski, a charismatic vocalist from the band 5 RANO. Together with Jan Borysewicz, he will play Lady Pank's song Zawsze tam, gdzie ty and Hendrix's Purple Haze. He will also join Grzegorz Skawiński to sing Thanks Jimi. We will get to hear Skawiński's guitar e.g. in Foxy Lady performed by Patrycja Markowska, who will be joining us online. Piotr Bukartyk – excellent author and composer will sing Kiedy był małym chłopcem by the band Breakout. He will be accompanied on stage by Jerzy Styczyński, well-known from the band Dżem. Together with Wojciech Pilichowski, he will play Voodoo Child on the same day. Among the artists who will help us break the World Guitar Record are also a Wrocław-based vocalist Natalia Lubrano and Russian guitar virtuoso Roman Miroshnichenko, who will participate in the event online. Other artists include Adam Palma and Krzesimir Dębski, Kenny Carr – the guitarist of Ray Charles, Gary Moore Tribute Band, and Grzegorz Markowski, who will give an online performance of Nie płacz Ewka, a cult song by the band Perfect.

Support the children and win a unique guitar

For the second time, the World Guitar Record is accompanied by a charity event for the children under the care of the ZOBACZ MNIE Foundation. To support the children and enter the competition to win a unique guitar with a painting by Szymon Czwalisz, all you need to do is make a bank transfer in the amount of 25 PLN via the form: http://bityl.pl/qjtI4 . The winner will be announced on 23 June.

Record at the Pergola and online. How to join us?

The guitar celebration will start in Wrocław (Pergola, ul. Wystawowa 1 by the Centennial Hall) on 19 June at 12:00. The guitarists who will not be able to come to Wrocław can join the event online. Registration of the online participants will launch on 19 June, the day of the World Guitar Record. The link to sign up will be available at www.heyjoe.pl. Organised groups who intend to play online can register their participation at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Live broadcast online will start at 10 am. The festival studio will open at the same hour. As every year, the World Guitar Record-breaking event will start at 4 pm, but we encourage everyone to join us at midday for the Blues-Rock Guitar Workshop run by Leszek Cichoński. This year, the initiator of the Record is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his educational work – the event will see the rally of Cichoński's pupils and students. The artists whose adventures with the guitar started in the 1990s inspired by Cichoński's manual include the exceptional guitarist Krzysztof Kawałko, Maciej Czemplik, and the guitar virtuoso Roman Miroshnichenko – all of them will perform during the event.

Get ready for the Record with Leszek Cichoński and Jan Borysewicz

To take part in the World Guitar Record, all you need is a guitar and the knowledge of the five basic chords C/G/D/A/E to play the song Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix.
