Start your guitar group and join the Record online

Guitarists who cannot make it to Wrocław will be able to join the event online – this year the participants will try to beat the Guitar ...World Record. Every guitar counts. 'No matter where you are – at home, in the garden, in the mountains or on the high seas – please join us online. Let's play the iconic Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix together,' says Leszek Cichoński, the leader of the Guitar Orchestra. Registration of guitarists playing online will be launched on 19 June, the day of the World Guitar Record 2021. Applications to participate online will not be accepted before that time. To set the new Guitar Record formally, we need to be sure that you are playing together with us on the day of the event. The registration link will be available at www.heyjoe.pl.

Nevertheless, we already encourage guitarists across the world, as well as community centres, guitar schools, groups of friends and whole families to form their own guitar ensembles. If you are an organised group, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We will get in touch with some of you during the live broadcast, and we will publish videos from your rehearsals on social media.

Get ready for the Record with Leszek Cichoński and other guitarists

To take part in the World Guitar Record 2021, all you need is a guitar and the knowledge of the five basic chords C/G/D/A/E to play the song Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix. All types of guitars are welcome (acoustic, classical, electric, bass), as are other string instruments – the ukulele, mandolin, banjo and balalaika. There is no age limit.
