What is the World Guitar Record? The annual guitar festival is most of all an occasion for collective play, meetings and exchange of experience, and during this event, an attempt to break the Guinness record is made.

Go looking for dwarves with guitars and play Hey Joe with Leszek Cichoński. The World Guitar Record invites you to join the warm-up on 1 May!

This year the World Guitar Record will take place on 19 June at the Pergola in Wrocław; nevertheless, to celebrate the annual May Day festivities, we have decided to hold a warm-up. On 30 April, dwarves in Wrocław will be given guitars, and on 1 May Leszek Cichoński will give an online concert accompanied by workshops on how to play some top guitar hits. The event will be broadcast on Facebook.

The largest guitar event in the country has been held on 1 May in the Wrocław Market Square for several years now. This year, due to the pandemic, the guitarists' rally has been scheduled for June, but we have not forgotten about the May tradition.

Look for dwarves with guitars, take pictures and win concert tickets

Wrocław is already preparing for the Record – and so are the famous dwarves populating the city centre. On 30 April they will receive... guitars to practice legendary Hey Joe. The organisers encourage you to look for the guitar patrons of Wrocław. Send photos of the captured dwarves on 30 April and 1 May to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The most interesting photos will be awarded with tickets to Gitarowe Riffy i Solówki Wszech Czasów concert (11 June, Stary Klasztor) and 3-Majówka festival (2-4 July, Pergola), and will be published on the Record's social media.

Get ready for the Record with Leszek Cichoński

On Saturday, 1 May, at 3:30 p.m., the head of the world guitar orchestra will play an online concert and teach you how to play selected songs that we will hear on 19 June at the World Guitar Record. These will include Hendrix's Hey Joe and Little Wing. To mark the 30th anniversary of his educational work and the publication of the Blues-Rock Guitar Workshop course, Leszek Cichoński is also planning to launch an online platform offering instructional videos, featuring such experts as Jan Borysewicz, Jacek Krzaklewski, Robert Drężek of Luxtorpeda, Krzysztof Kawałko, Maciek Czemplik and the founder of one of the most popular YouTube guitar channels, Szymon Chudy. 'The website will include new songs that we will play on 19 June, such as Lady Pank's hit Zawsze tam, gdzie ty and Nie płacz Ewka by Perfect', announces Cichoński. The concert will be broadcast on Facebook pages of the World Guitar Record www.facebook.com/GitarowyRekord and Leszek Cichoński www.facebook.com/LeszekCichonskiGuitarWorkshop.

We play at the Pergola and online

Due to the pandemic-related restrictions imposed by the government, this year's edition of the World Guitar Record will be held exceptionally on 19 June at the Pergola in the Centennial Hall complex. The biggest guitar orchestra will also perform online. Confirmed artists include Jan Borysewicz, Patrycja and Grzegorz Markowski, and Grzegorz Skawiński. Next year the event will return to Wrocław's Market Square. Guidelines on how to join the record-breaking event live and online coming soon.
